Building Blocks is a pilot programme by Temasek Foundation and Learning Vessels to share evidence-based parenting tips, with a hands-on focus, for parents with children aged up to 3 years.
EARLY LITERACY AT HOME
We are recruiting for our first programme which will help parents/caregivers learn and practice techniques to enhance their child’s emerging reading skills. This programme will be conducted entirely online and accessible at your own time.
This programme is open to parents/caregivers of children aged 1-3. Interested parents can register here. As the programme is open to 85 parents/caregivers only, you will be notified upon successful sign-up.
1. All participants will be asked to join a closed Facebook community of parents/caregivers with children in the same age group.
2. Thereafter, a free starter kit worth $65 (see items as shown in image) will be sent to your home. We estimate that the kits should be sent out in the week of 16 March 2020.
3. Participants will also be asked to view videos in the closed FB group that will demonstrate how the kit items can be best used with your children to enhance their emerging reading (literacy) skills. Free downloadables and tips will also be shared on the FB group. Topics covered include enhancing vocabulary, building early phonological awareness and shared book reading.
4. Participants that complete a final questionnaire within 2 weeks of receiving the starter kit will receive a second add-on kit.
